A Field Instrument for Drivers

Your engine has
been telling you
what's wrong.

Revly listens to it. Through the microphone you already own, in the time it takes to make coffee, it identifies the acoustic signatures of mechanical issues weeks before they leave you on the shoulder.

Premise

The diagnostic that
arrives before the breakdown.

A short list of things Revly was built to do well, and a slightly longer list of things it was built to refuse to do.

i.
Hear what mechanics hear, without the decade of training.

Bearing whine, lifter tick, exhaust hiss, knock, belt slip — each has a fingerprint. Revly is trained on thousands of such fingerprints, paired with verified mechanical outcomes.

ii.
Use nothing but the device in your pocket.

No diagnostic dongle. No Bluetooth pairing. No code reader. Your phone's microphone is sufficient for the frequency bands that matter for combustion diagnostics.

iii.
Show the work, not just the verdict.

Every finding includes a calibrated confidence score and a description of the acoustic features that triggered it. We refuse to deliver black-box judgments about your property.

iv.
Remember the baseline of your engine.

The acoustic profile of a healthy engine drifts over time. Revly tracks that drift longitudinally, flagging changes against your own past readings rather than a generic average.

v.
Make the shop visit shorter, not optional.

A Revly report names the likely issue, its urgency, and a typical cost range. It does not replace your mechanic. It exists so you can walk in informed and walk out without the upsell.

Position

Built by a mechanic's daughter. Trained on real engines.

Revly began the way most useful instruments begin — with someone watching an expert do a thing that looked impossible. In this case, a man in a suburban Detroit garage who could name a customer's pending repair from the sound it made pulling onto the lot.

That ear took forty years to build. We thought a model might learn the same patterns faster, given enough data and enough patience. Three years later, on a dataset of fourteen thousand engines with verified outcomes, it does.

The beta is intentionally small — we onboard in batches to keep the feedback loop tight. Send a short note about your vehicle and you'll hear back within a week. Founding-member pricing locks in for life when we launch publicly later this year.
